Launched by the New Muscovy Company in 2005 at Guards Polo Club, the largest and most exclusive polo club in Europe, Ivan The Terrible Challenge is an exciting sporting and social event with a "county fair" feel, blended with a touch of international glamour. It attracts a unique selection of high profile polo players, patrons and spectators from across the world.

Traditionally, two teams are invited to compete for Ivan The Terrible trophy: a Guards Polo Club team and a team from Russia. A 10 goal/5 chukka game starts at 6pm and makes the most of the beautiful evening light at Smith's Lawn.  The match is followed by trophy presentation after which the players join New Muscovy guests for dinner in a marquee. In attendance you will find royalty, celebrities and VIPs who all enjoy this unique and prestigious event.
